Astrophytum asterias Super Kabuto is mainly found in Japan, where it is a common cultivar. This cactus includes a single round stem with multiple ribs and areoles that have several short white spines that look almost fuzzy.

The ribs are all dark green in color and are usually covered with white uneven spots throughout the surface. The flowers bloom from the stem and are yellow in color with a red center.
